The world famous shadow theatre performance by Richard Bradshaw is coming to ImaginArta in November.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see “Bradshaw’s Shadows”. They have featured on “The Muppet Show” and for many years on “Playschool".
Richard Bradshaw of Australia presents a program made up of short, unrelated items using shadow puppets. The show is packed with fun and surprise and includes stories, songs and visual jokes. It begins with his version of "The Broken Bridge", based on a shadow-play that was performed in France over two centuries ago, and ends with an original song "SuperKangaroo". Along the way you will see a crazy version of Old Macdonald's Farm, bizarre creatures called "Blaggs" that can change shape, and some very colourful fish! There is also a small circus with an ostrich, a mouse and a hippopotamus that was featured in the first series of "The Muppet Show" and has appeared since 1967 on the Australian A.B.C.’s “Play School”.
In the past thirty years Richard has made 50 overseas tours with his puppets to 25 countries in Europe, North America and Asia. In 1984 the late Jim Henson came to Sydney to make an hour-long documentary on Richard’s work for a series which was broadcast internationally.
“ ... Richard Bradshaw, Australia, who is widely regarded as the finest solo shadow player in the world”
